What is Alpha?
Explore faith more deeply
Alpha is an international course through which millions of people have got to know the Christian faith better. It runs all over the world – in cafés, churches, universities, living rooms and even prisons.
It is a series of 15 sessions in which we explore the basics of the Christian faith together. Each week we look at one big question that opens up space for conversation.
You don’t have to be a believer or have all the answers. You can ask questions, share your opinion or simply listen to others.
How Alpha works
Three things that make up every session
Every week there’s a shared meal, an interesting topic and an open discussion.

We meet over food
Every session starts with refreshments. It’s a chance to chat informally and get to know new people.

We explore big questions
We watch a short video or listen to a talk on one of the key themes of the Christian faith. We look at its core ideas and think about what they might mean for our lives.

We discuss and share our views
Everyone can contribute their perspective, hear others’ experiences and talk about what caught their attention or what they don’t understand.
